The New York premiere of Burning Blue is set for a fall opening at the Samuel Beckett Theatre.

D.M.W. Greer's play, which played London in 1995 and Los Angeles in 1998, will begin previews at the Beckett Theatre (410 W. 42nd Street) on Sept. 28 with an official opening set for Oct. 15. John Hickock, who directed the Olivier Award-winning West End run, will helm the New York production as well. George DeMarco is producing.

The drama concerns two navy fighter pilots who fall in love and the fallout that ensues afterward. A reading of the drama for 225 people was held at Off-Broadway's Westside Theatre in Jan. 1999. That workshop featured Michael Hayden and Robert LuPone, alongside Jodie Markell, Robert Bogue, Martin McDougall, Christa Kirby, Melissa Bowen, and UK actor Andrew Halliday.

Casting for the Off-Broadway run has not been announced. Burning Blue will be a limited engagement, playing through Dec. 15.
