Neuwirth's latest return to the Kander and Ebb musical found the triple threat playing the role of Roxie Hart. The stage and screen star had created the role of Chicago's other merry murderess, Velma Kelly, for this revival, earning a Tony Award for her work.

Neuwirth will be succeeded by Mexican actress Bianca Marroquin beginning April 23. Marroquin will join a company that features Brenda Braxton as Velma Kelly, Rob Bartlett as Amos Hart, Roz Ryan as Matron Mama Morton and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.

As previously announced, husband-and-wife actors Harry Hamlin and Lisa Rinna will join the Chicago company June 19 as respectively, Billy Flynn and Roxie Hart. They are currently scheduled to play those roles through July 29. Before Hamlin arrives, however, former child actor Joey Lawrence, will play slick lawyer Flynn May 4-June 17.

Bebe Neuwirth received Tony Awards for her performances in the revivals of Sweet Charity and Chicago. Her other Broadway credits include roles in A Chorus Line, Little Me, Dancin', Damn Yankees and Fosse. Known around the world for her Emmy Award-winning role as Lilith on the NBC series "Cheers," Neuwirth has also been seen on screen in "Summer of Sam," "Celebrity," "Liberty Heights," "The Associate," "Jumanji," "Bugsy," "The Paint Job," "Getting to Know You" and "Wild Palms." Neuwirth also starred in a limited engagement of Here Lies Jenny, a musical event exploring the works of Kurt Weill at Off-Broadway's Zipper Theatre.

Chicago won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical in 1997 as well as awards for actors Bebe Neuwirth and James Naughton, director Walter Bobbie, lighting designer Ken Billington and choreographer Ann Reinking. The original production was directed and choreographed by the late Bob Fosse. Chicago plays the Ambassador Theatre, located at 215 West 49th Street.
