News Cabaret Ends West End Run June 21; Tour to Follow The West End's current revival of Cabaret plays its final performance at the Lyric Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue, June 21, with the curtain going up for the last time at 7:45 PM.

The hit revival, directed by Rufus Norris (currently represented by Les Liaisons Dangereuses on Broadway and previously responsible for Festen both in London and on Broadway), is closing after a run of nearly two years. A national tour of this production will kick off in late August, launching at Birmingham Repertory Theatre Aug. 28, and continuing on the road to Bristol, Liverpool, Nottingham, Manchester, Woking, Cheltenham, Bath, Leeds, Truo and Malvern.

This production of Kander and Ebb's 1966 Broadway musical opened at the Lyric Theatre Oct. 10, 2006 (following previews from Sept. 22), and currently stars Alistair McGowan as the Emcee and Amy Nuttall as Sally Bowles. Also in the cast are Angela Richards as Fraulein Schneier and Barry James as Herr Schultz.
