News Cabaret Opens at Trinity Repertory Theatre Sept. 16 Rachael Warren and Joe Wilson, Jr. star in the Tony-winning musical Cabaret, opening at the Trinity Repertory Theatre Sept. 16.

Trinity Rep artistic director Curt Columbus stages the Kander and Ebb musical that began previews Sept. 11 and will run through Oct. 11.

Warren stars as Sally Bowles opposite Wilson, Jr. as the Emcee in a cast that also features Mauro Hantman as Cliff Bradshaw, Phyllis Kay as Fräulein Schneider, Stephen Berenson as Herr Schultz, Stephen Thorne as Ernst Ludwig and Janice Duclos as Fräulein Kost. The ensemble includes Matt Clevy, Patrick Mulryan, Michael Obremski, Molly O’Neill, Lizzie Vieh, Monica Willey, Gillian Williams, Anne Francisco Worden and Lynnette R. Freeman.

“In keeping with the sensibility Adrian Hall and Eugene Lee encouraged at Trinity Rep from the very beginning, our kabaret is a bustling beer garden – feeling more like a festive carnival midway for the audience than a supper club," said Columbus in a statement.

The production has musical direction by Michael Rice, choreography by Sharon Jenkins, set design by Michael McGarty, costume design by William Lane, lighting design by Russell Champa and sound design by Peter Hurowitz.

Cabaret features a book by Joe Masteroff, based on the John Van Druten play "I Am a Camera" and the original stories by Christopher Isherwood. John Kander and Fred Ebb penned the Tony-Award winning score to the musical that features such hits as "Willkommen," "So What," "Don't Tell Mama" and the title song. Tickets to Cabaret at Trinity Rep, 201 Washington Street in Providence, RI, are available by calling (401) 351-4242.
