Singer-recording artist Lee Lessack will bring his acclaimed program of Johnny Mercer songs to London's Pizza on the Park July 10 to July 13.
Lessack will offer four performances of "Too Marvelous for Words: The Songs of Johnny Mercer," which includes such well-known Mercer works as "I Thought About You," "Skylark" and "Autumn Leaves" as well as the novelty song "Whatcha-Ma-Call-It." Lessack will also offer snippets of trivia about the award-winning lyricist, who died in 1976 at age 66. John Boswell will serve as the musical director and pianist.
An accomplished vocalist and recording artist, Lessack also founded the LML Music label, which has produced recordings for such artists as Louise Pitre, Cindy Benson, Brian Lane Green, Jim Caruso, Charles Cermele and Stephen Schwartz. Lessack's three CDs — "Lee Lessack," "I Know You By Heart" and "Two Marvelous for Words" — are also available on the LML label.
Tickets for "Too Marvelous for Words" are priced at £16 and £18. Pizza on the Park is located in London at 1 Knightsbridge Road.
