News   Caesar Betrayed on Steps of L.A. City Hall, July 8 LOS ANGELES--It's summer in Los Angeles, and on the steps of City Hall, audiences will watch Brutus betray Caesar.

LOS ANGELES--It's summer in Los Angeles, and on the steps of City Hall, audiences will watch Brutus betray Caesar.

The City Hall is one of three locations for Shakespeare Festival/L.A.'s presentation of Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare, directed by Andrew Tsao.

The multi-media production is being presented at the South Coast Botanic Gardens as well as at L.A. City College, with previews July 8. It opens July 11.

The show runs 8:30 PM Wednesday through Sunday, from July 11 to July 19 at the steps of City Hall, 200 N. Spring St., downtown L.A. On the steps of City Hall, the majority of seating is free, although donations of canned food or new children's books are requested. Preferred seats are available for $25 or $40 with a picnic dinner. At L.A. City College, 855 N. Vermont, Los Angeles, the one show is at 8:30 PM July 21. Tickets are free at this performance. Call (213) 953-4336. At South Coast Botanic Gardens, 26300 Crenshaw Blvd., Palos Verdes, shows are at 8:30 PM Thursday through Sunday, July 23 through August 2.
