News Cahoon Is Child Catcher in Broadway's Chitty Kevin Cahoon has landed the role of the Child Catcher in the upcoming Broadway mounting of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

A spokesperson for the production confirmed that Cahoon will join the previously announced Raúl Esparza as Caractacus Potts, Erin Dilly as Truly Scrumptious, Philip Bosco as Grandpa Potts, Marc Kudisch as Baron Bomburst and Jan Maxwell as Baroness Bomburst, Chip Zien as Goran and Robert Sella as Boris. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is scheduled to begin performances March 27 at the newly renamed Hilton Theatre with an official opening April 28.

Based on Ian Fleming's novel and the film of the same name, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang features music and lyrics by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman. Song titles include "Truly Scrumptious," "Toot Sweets," "Hushabye Mountain" and the Oscar nominated title song "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang."

Chitty will feature direction by Adrian Noble, musical staging by Gillian Lynne, sets and costumes by Anthony Ward, lighting by Mark Henderson and sound design by Andrew Bruce.

Kevin Cahoon was recently seen Off-Broadway in The Foreigner with Matthew Broderick. His other theatrical credits include the title role in Hedwig and the Angry Inch as well as Broadway's The Rocky Horror Show, The Lion King and The Who's Tommy. He and his band, Ghetto Cowboy, have played CBGB's and Don Hill's.
