News California's North Coast Rep to Premiere New Little Women Adaptation North Coast Repertory Theatre in Solana Beach, CA, will present the world-premiere adaptation of Little Women, a play with music, Feb. 17-March 14. Opening night is Feb. 20.

Adapted by Jacqueline Goldfinger and based on the famous novel by Louisa May Alcott, Little Women, according to production notes, is an "engaging tale of love and perseverance in the face of adversity. Set in Concord, MA, in the 1860s, the play chronicles the lives of Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy March and the indomitable Marmee."

Goldfinger, a Tennessee Williams Scholar in playwriting, has had her other works produced Off-Off-Broadway at the New York International Fringe Festival and 13th Street Rep.

Directed by Kirsten Brandt, Little Women will feature Maddie Baldwin (Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas at The Old Globe) as Amy, Brooke Byler (Romeo & Juliet Deconstructed for The Shakespeare Society) as Beth, Caroline Kinsolving (Almost, Maine at Colony Theatre) as Jo, Aaryn Kopp (The Women at The Old Globe) as Meg, Linda Libby (The Good Body at San Diego Rep) as Marmee, Brian Mackey (North Coast Rep's A Christmas Carol) as John and Tim Parker (The Four of Usat The Old Globe) as Laurie.

Little Women features scenic design by Marty Burnett, costume design by Mary Larson and Renetta Lloyd, hair and wig design by Peter Herman and sound design by Chris Luessmann. Elizabeth Stephens stage manages, Aaron Rumley is the production manager and Kim Strassburger is the dramaturg.
