Directed by Richard St. Peter, the production will play the June Havoc Theatre July 15-Aug. 1. Playwright Hampton will head a cast that includes Carter Calvert (Ain't Nothin' But the Blues) as Penny, Natalie Buster (Sessions) as Catherine, Allie Darden as Brooke, Beverly Lauchner as Summer and Jennifer Hyman Zimmerman as Liz. (Anna Nugent will briefly step into the role of Penny for one show on July 18.)

Checking In, according to press notes, "is the story of six mixed-matched friends from Virginia now struggling to make their way in the world. Reuniting for a weekend in Atlantic City, they rehash the past and catch up on the present. But, when they discover one of them has been hiding a shocking reality, her reasons send them into a tailspin — questioning whether there's more to their bond than a case of beer, a carton of cigarettes, and a room full of high school nostalgia."

Show times are July 15 at 5 PM, July 18 at 7 PM, July 24 at 7:30 PM, July 27 at 8:30 PM and Aug. 1 at 1 PM.

The June Havoc Theatre is located in Manhattan at 312 West 36th Street, first floor.

The Midtown International Theatre Festival runs July 13-Aug. 2 and is produced by John Chatterton. Visit www.midtownfestival.org for more information or call (866) 811-4111.
