News Calvert, Glass, Law, McKinsey and Sowers Will Explore The Trouble with Doug A free presentation of the new musical The Trouble with Doug, which is subtitled "A Modern-Day Metamorphosis," is scheduled for Nov. 10 at the Shop Theater in Manhattan.

Presented by CAP21 as part of the Dorothy Strelsin New Works Series, the evening will begin at 7:30 PM. Directed by Lawrence Arancio with musical direction by J. Oconer Navarro, the cast will feature Heath Calvert, Courtney Glass, Mary Kate Law, Michael "Tuba" McKinsey and Scott Sowers.

The Trouble with Doug was penned by Will Aronson and Daniel Maté. The new musical, according to press notes, is described as such: "On the eve of his 27th birthday, Doug Gregory transforms from a successful, independent young man into a giant slug. As his family struggles to adjust to this most unreal reality, we are treated to a dark comedy of evolution, devolution, and the 'slugular' side of life."

The Shop Theater is located in Manhattan at 18 West 18th Street on the sixth floor. Although the reading is free, reservations are required by calling (212) 352-3101.
