Manheim is best known for her role in TV's "The Practice" and is currently a regular on the CBS show "Ghost Whisperer." She has appeared in the Public Theater productions of Wake Up, I'm Fat; Two Gentlemen of Verona; and Woyzeck, and won an Obie Award for Missing Persons at the Atlantic Theater Company. She has also appeared in films such as "Scary Movie 3." The previously announced Lauren Ambrose ("Six Feet Under," Awake and Sing!) and Oscar Isaac (Two Gentlemen of Verona) will play the title roles in the production, which runs June 5-July 8.

The Public Theater has not produced Romeo and Juliet since 1988, when it presented the classic tragedy in the Anspacher Theater, in the company's Lafayette Street space. Peter MacNicol and Cynthia Nixon starred in the title roles. The play hasn't been at the Delacorte Theatre in Central Park since 1968, when Joseph Papp directed a production that starred Martin Sheen and Susan McArthur.

Daniel Sullivan will helm Shakespeare in the Park's second summer offering, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which will run Aug. 7-Sept. 9.
