Veteran comedian Joan Rivers will appear at The Duplex Cabaret Theatre in New York City in June.
Rivers, who received a 1994 Tony nomination for her work in Sally Marr . . . and her escorts, will play the Duplex on June 5 at 7 PM and June 13 at 10 PM. Rivers will perform new material during her one-hour show, which will benefit God's Love We Deliver and Guide Dogs for the Blind.
A stand-up comic who rose to fame guest-hosting "The Tonight Show," Rivers also hosted her own talk show, "The Joan Rivers Show," for FOX TV. She made her Broadway debut in Fun City in 1988 and later received critical acclaim when she stepped into the Neil Simon play Broadway Bound. Although its run was brief, her work in Sally Marr — which she co-wrote — earned her a Tony nomination. Rivers, with daughter Melissa, is a regular contributor to the E! Entertainment Network.
The Duplex is located at 61 Christopher Street. There is a $25 cover charge (purchased in person at the Duplex) and a two-drink minimum.
