News   Canada's Shaw Fest Reveals Casting for 2011; Steven Sutcliffe, Deborah Hay, Claire Jullien Among Troupers The Shaw Festival's 50th season in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, will include a new production of the musical My Fair Lady featuring Deborah Hay as Eliza Doolittle, Benedict Campbell as Henry Higgins, Neil Barclay as Alfred Doolittle and Patrick Galligan as Colonel Pickering.

Directed by Molly Smith, artistic director of Arena Stage in Washington, DC, the production will begin at the Festival Theatre April 13, 2011, open May 28 and close Oct. 30, playing in repertory with other Shaw or Shaw-related works by authors of the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries.

The titles of the 2011 season were previously announced, but creative teams and principal casting (including players in My Fair Lady) were revealed on Nov. 10.

This will be the first time the Shaw Festival stages My Fair Lady, the Frederick Loewe-Alan Jay Lerner musical based on Shaw's play Pygmalion. The cast will also feature Sharry Flett, Patty Jamieson and Mark Uhre.

The My Fair Lady creative team will include musical director Paul Sportelli, choreographer Danny Pelzig, set designer Ken MacDonald, costume designer Judith Bowden, lighting designer Jock Munro, sound designer John Lott and projection designer Adam Larsen.
