Taking over from Maja Ardal after seven season is Carousel Theatre's artistic director, Pierre Tetrault. Carousel has staged several award-winning shows for young audiences, some of them like Book of The Dragon and Loon Boy, directed by Tetrault.
In his eight years with Carousel, Tetrault has also been instrumental in making that company one of the most respected youth theatre companies across the province.
In addition, having worked extensively in the schools and in culturally driven community outreach programs, Tetrault comes to the job with exactly the kind of experience YPT needs.
As Ardal put it in announcing the appointment: "Pierre is perfect for taking YPT into the new Millennium and upholding our fundamental principals of child culture and new Canadian work."
