Classic Arts News Cardiff's Wales Millennium Centre Set for Opening Season The UK's newest performing arts venue, the Wales Millennium Center, has announced the lineup for its innaugural season, the BBC reports.
The Ô£104 million theatre, located on the waterfront of Cardiff Bay, Wales, is set to open November 26 with a performance by baritone Bryn Terfel, singing with guests Jos_ Carreras, Charlotte Church, Michael Crawford, and Ioan Gruffudd.

The season also includes performances by the Kirov Ballet, and performances of the Australian Ballet's Sleeping Beauty. The venue will serve as home for the Welsh National Opera's spring and summer seasons.

"The opening season's programme offers an eclectic mix of productions that will delight our audiences‹young and old‹with UK and European premieres by internationally acclaimed companies, family shows, world-class opera, dance and ballet performances," WMC director Judith Isherwood told the BBC.
