The film will also feature Dwayne Johnson as a special operations firefighter; Gugino will play his ex-wife. The movie follows the two as they travel from Los Angeles to San Francisco to rescue their daughter after a disastrous earthquake.
Brad Peyton will direct.
Gugino has performed on Broadway in The Road to Mecca, Desire Under the Elms and After the Fall.
Her TV credits include "Political Animals," "Californication" and "Entourage," and she has appeared in the films "New Year's Eve," "Watchmen" and "Night at the Museum."
