Classic Arts News Carmel Bach Festival Announces Summer Season The Carmel Bach Festival has announced its summer lineup.
The California coast festival, which was founded in 1935 and this year runs from July 15 to August 4, will include Bach Cantatas Nos. 137 and 140, the St. John Passion, Mexican Baroque choral music, Handel's oratorio Israel in Egypt, and Bach harpsichord, oboe d'amore, and flute concertos.

The Carmel Bach Festival Orchestra and Chorus, led by conductor Bruno Weil, will also perform Mozart works and Renaissance music. The schedule also includes chamber music and jazz concerts.
