Classic Arts News Carnegie Hall Launches National Education Program Carnegie Hall is launching a new music education program this season in partnership with ten orchestras around the country, the hall announced yesterday.
Through the pilot program, called Communities LinkUp!, Carnegie will provide educational materials intended to introduce students in the fourth, fifth, and sixth grades to musical concepts. Orchestra staffers and local educators will carry out a series of lessons culminating in a live performance. This year's lesson demonstrates the idea of theme and variation using the music of Ives, Haydn, and Beethoven.

The orchestras included in the program include the Honolulu Symphony, the Louisiana Philharmonic of New Orleans, and the St. Louis Symphony.
