News Carnegie Hall Presents South Pacific Concert in 2005 In June 2002 Tony Award winners Audra McDonald and Hugh Jackman co-starred in a critically acclaimed concert of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Carousel. Now comes word that another R & H musical, South Pacific, will be presented at Carnegie Hall.

On June 9, 2005, an all-star cast to be announced will perform the 1949 musical in Carnegie Hall's Isaac Stern Auditorium. The evening will feature Patrick Summers conducting the Orchestra of St. Luke's. Show time is 8 PM. South Pacific features songs by composer Richard Rodgers and lyricist Oscar Hammerstein II and was drawn from James Michener's "Tales of the South Pacific." Mary Martin and Ezio Pinza co-starred in the original Broadway production, which boasted such classic songs as "Some Enchanted Evening," "Younger Than Springtime," "Bali H'ai" and "A Wonderful Guy."

The on-sale ticket date has yet to be announced, but prices will range from $34 (balcony) to $78 (dress circle). Higher priced seats will also be available and will include a pre-concert dinner. For benefit tickets, call (212) 903-9679. For more information visit www.carnegiehall.org.
