"Carson Kressley has become famous for making over the world. Fans are going to thrill over how he makes over NEWSical," said the show’s producer, Tom D'Angora, in an earlier statement.
Kressley decided to join NEWSical The Musical after seeing his friend Perez Hilton in the show. "I was really impressed with the show and the intelligence of its humor. Perez told me it was a great time and that I should give it a try," said Kressley.
Kressley has starred on several television shows, including Lifetime's critically acclaimed "How To Look Good Naked," OWN's "Carson-Nation," and Bravo's "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy," a role that earned him a primetime Emmy.
On Feb. 6, the production will also welcome the return of original NEWSical The Musical cast member Christina Bianco. The company also features Christine Pedi, Michael West, Tommy Walker, Emily McNamara and Ryan Knowles.
Rick Crom is the show's creator and writer. The production is directed by Mark Waldrop and produced by D'Angora. Rounding out the creative team are Ed Goldschneider (music director), Jason Courson (set designer) and Ryan Obermeier (stage manager).
