News Cartoon-Inspired Class of 3000 LIVE! Makes World Premiere in Atlanta March 6-29 The world-premiere stage adaptation of Class of 3000 LIVE, based on the Emmy-winning cartoon series, begins performances at the Alliance Theatre March 6.

Created by André Benjamin of OutKast and Tommy Lynch, Class of 3000 LIVE features original songs by Benjamin and is adapted and directed by Rosemary Newcott. The musical officially opens March 8 and runs through March 29.

The animated series follows music star Sunny Bridges, who gives up celebrity to move to Atlanta. In the stage production, press notes state, "new musical inspiration is just around the corner for Sunny when he's discovered by a group of young middle school musical prodigies in desperate search of a music teacher. Though his students don't realize it, Sunny is about to teach them new forms of expression and creativity, and the kids are about to re-ignite his passion for music and his community."

The cast includes Sinatra Onyewuchi as Sunny Bridges, as well as Wendy Melkonian, Brandon O'Dell, Jonathan Davis, Bernard Jones, Zany Pohlel, Justin Tanner, Scott Warren and Sharisa Whatley.

Designing the production are Iris Goode (choreographer) Kat Conley (set designer), Sydney Roberts (costume designer), Pete Shinn (lighting designer), Clay Benning (sound designer) and Justin Ellington (music director).
