The Campo Santo Theatre in San Francisco, CA will host the West Coast premiere of Migdalia Cruz's Fur. Not your everyday love story, Fur explores the relationships between Michael, a man obsessed with Citrona, a bearded lady in a circus side show who herself is taken with Nena. To make the triangle complete, Nena doesn't return Citrona's affections, but instead focuses her interests on Michael.
A member of New Dramatists, Cruz, whose other plays include Miriam's Flowers and Dreams of Hope, has had her work produced at Arena Stage, Steppenwolf, and the New York Theater Workshop, among other venues.
Robert Gutierrez Varea will direct a cast of regional theatre regulars including Greta Sanchez-Ramirez and Michael Torres, a founding member of Campo Santo.
For tickets or more information, call (415) 626-3311, or refer to the regional listing on Playbill On-Line.
