Allan Miller directs Joel Anderson, Barry Lynch, Dihlon McManne and Christopher Murray in the four-week run through July 16. Performances begin June 20.

In The Deal an undercover FBI agent develops a friendship with a smalltime politician in order to expose widespread corruption. A play about greed and entrapment, it explores the moral question raised when law enforcement authorities lure suspected wrongdoers into incriminating themselves.

Witten is a story editor for the TV show "Law & Order," and has written for "Homicide: Life on the Streets." The Deal was originally produced by the Philadelphia Festival Theatre for New Plays, and was included in "The Ten Best Plays of l987-88" by the American Theatre Critics Association.

Miller was producing director at the Back Alley Theatre for ten years, where he produced 32 plays and directed such productions as Are You Now or Have You Ever Been?, The Fox, In the Sweet Bye and Bye and Jacque Brel Is....
