Miller's A View From the Bridge follows (April 27-May 20). Written in 1956, the drama is set in Brooklyn's Red Hook district and deals with Eddie Carbone, a longshoreman driven to acts of violence and despair by passions he cannot cope with. This modern American tragedy garnered two Tony Awards and four Drama Desk Awards in a recent Broadway revival.

Next up is the southern California premiere of the long-running Off Broadway hit Death Defying Acts, a trio of one-acts by Mamet, May and Allen. One critic described them as "New York stories from hell." June 22-July 15.

Lee Hall's adaptation of Carlo Goldoni's classic comedy A Servant to Two Masters opens Sept. 7 and continues through Sept. 30. The play was a huge success for the Royal Shakespeare Company at London's Young Vic Theatre last year.

ICT's season concludes with Honk!, a fable adapted from Hans Christian Anderson's "The Ugly Duckling." The musical stunned the London theatre world by beating out The Lion King for the 2000 Olivier Award for Best Musical. The hot young writing team of George Stiles (music) and Anthony Drewe (book) have put together a vibrant, modern retelling of a misfit fowl's journey to self-actualization. The pun-filled show inspired many critics to get in on the joke. "Quacking entertainment, worth a gander," said London Going Out. "Honk! is just ducky!" is how the Boston Globe put it. Center Theatre is located in the newly renovated Long Beach Performing Arts Center at 300 E. Ocean Blvd. For tickets and information call (562) 436-4610.
