The entertainment weekly Drama-Logue has announced its 1997 Awards for Outstanding Achievement. Fifteen of the paper's reviewers voted on the awards, after having seen 1170 productions in Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco.
The big winners were South Coast Rep's Martin Benson and David Emmes, who were responsible for the six shows that swept the Production Awards category.
A Noise Within was close behind with four awards, followed by Gordon Davidson's Center Theatre Group's three.
Among the categories were Production, Direction, Musical Direction, Choreography, Writing, Performance, Ensemble Performance, Scenic Design, Sound Design, Lighting Design, Costume Design and Hair & Makeup Design.
