LOS ANGELES -- Theatre Geo meet Theatre Neo.

LOS ANGELES -- Theatre Geo meet Theatre Neo. The successor to the defunct CA theatre company led by Geo Hartley, Theatre Neo is headed by two former stalwarts of that company, Grant Gottschall and Ray Proscia. "We are proud to continue the innovative producing standards established by Geo," said playwright Gottschall.

The first bill of plays by the new group will premiere April 21 at the Hudson Avenue Theatre. Neo Shorts includes eight short plays selected from a recent competition. More than 200 one-acts were read and 48 given staged readings before the final eight were chosen. Six are world premieres, one is a Los Angeles premiere, and the eighth is a 1997 Drama-Logue award-winning play. All eight are written by local playwrights.

Performances are every Tuesday at 8 PM through May 19.

The Hudson Avenue Theatre is at 1110 Hudson Ave. in Hollywood. Call (888) 566-TIXX.
