News Cast Announced for Chicago Premiere of Take Me Out Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre Company has drafted an acting team for the March 24-May 1 Chicago premiere of Richard Greenberg's Tony Award-winning play Take Me Out.

Eric Rosen directs the contemporary tale of a star baseball player who reveals he's gay at a press conference, and the personal, professional, public and even criminal havoc his announcement engenders. Featured in the cast are Tom Aulino, Christian Castro, Kyle Hall, Kyle Hatley, Michael Park Ingram, Doug James, Danny McCarthy, James Vincent Meredith, Derrick Nelson, Benjamin Sprunger and Juan Villa. Though presented at Steppenwolf, the show is an About Face production. Still, the locale is appropriate: Greenberg has a long-standing relationship with Steppenwolf, which has produced many of his plays.

Take Me Out began life in London and then came to New York's Off Broadway non-profit The Public Theater (it was a Donmar Warehouse-Public Theater co-production). The reception was such that the play transferred to Broadway, where critics hailed it as not only a smart and funny examination of the National Pastime and gay life, but a host of other American issues, obsessions and prejudices.

Tickets are $25-$40 . Call (312) 335-1650.
