Director Jessica Kubzansky has announced the cast for her production of Vaclav Havel's The Memorandum, which opens Oct. 16 at the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble for a six-week run. Featured are John Ross Clark, Kent Davis, David Dionisio, MIchael David Edwards, Gail Godown, Beth Kennedy, Michael James Reed, Nancy Ann Ridder, Steve Rosenbaum and Alicia Wollerton.
Havel was elected the first president of Czechoslovakia after the fall of the Soviet empire. His opposition to the Communist regime landed him in jail twice for a period of five years. A much-produced playwright, his credits include The Garden Party, The Increased Difficulty of Concentration, The Mountain Hotel and Letters to Olga. The Memorandum was produced in New York by Joseph Papp and won the 1967-68 Obie award for Best Foreign Play.
Kubzansky has directed at many theatres, including Pacific Resident Theatre and the Mark Taper Forum.
