Peter Wight and Tom Vaughan-Lawlor will join the previously announced Toby Jones, Stephen Mangan, Zoë Wanamaker, and Pearl Mackie for the forthcoming London revival of Harold Pinter's The Birthday Party.
Performances will begin January 9, 2018. The production will officially open January 18 and is currently scheduled to run through April 14 at the Harold Pinter Theatre.
Ian Rickson directs.
The play, according to production notes, concerns “Stanley Webber (Jones), [who] is the only lodger at Meg (Wanamaker) and Petey Boles’ (Wight) sleepy seaside boarding house. The unsettling arrival of enigmatic strangers Goldberg (Mangan) and McCann (Vaughan-Lawlor) disrupts the humdrum lives of the inhabitants and their friend Lulu (Mackie), and mundanity soon becomes menace when a seemingly innocent birthday party turns into a disturbing nightmare.”
The production will be designed by the Quay Brothers, with lighting by Hugh Vanstone, sound by Simon Baker, music by Stephen Warbeck, and casting by Amy Ball.
