News Cast Complete for World Premiere of Gilman's The Crowd You're in With Charles Shaw Robinson joins the now-completed cast of the upcoming Magic Theatre world-premiere run of Rebecca Gilman's The Crowd You're in With in San Francisco.

Amy Glazer directs the production, which runs Nov. 10-Dec. 9 at Magic's Sam Shepard Theatre. Opening night is slated for Nov. 17.

Robinson was last seen in the Bay Area as Eurydice's father in Sarah Ruhl's eurydice at Berkeley Rep. He reprised his work for the Yale Repertory Theatre run and again Off-Broadway at Second Stage.

He joins Bay Area veteran actors Lorri Holt, Kevin Rolston, Makela Spielman, T. Edward Webster, Allison Jean White and Chris Yule in the world premiere of The Crowd You're in With.

Gilman's newest work is set at "a backyard barbecue, [which] is the perfect place to tackle the big questions: Is the chicken done? Will the weather hold up? Is it the right time to have a baby?"

The design team features Erik Flatmo (set), Kurt Landisman (lighting), Meg Neville (costumes) and Sara Huddleston (sound). This production marks the fourth collaboration between playwright Gilman and director Glazer, who have previously teamed at the Magic Theatre on The American in Me, Blue Surge and The Sweetest Swing in Baseball. Gilman's other works include Spinning Into Butter, Boy Gets Girl and the Pulitzer Prize finalist The Glory of Living.

The season at Magic will continue with Betty Shamieh's Territories (Jan. 12-Feb. 10, 2008), Edna O'Brien's Tir Na Nog ("Land of Youth") (Feb. 23-March 23, 2008), Kevin Fisher's Monkey Room (April 5-May 4, 2008) and Wendy MacLeod's Birnham Woods (May 10-June 8, 2008).
