News   Cast for Meriwether's The Mistakes Madeline Made Ready for Yale Rep Run

The cast is set for the upcoming Yale Repertory Theatre production of Elizabeth Meriwether's The Mistakes Madeline Made.

Mark Rucker (last season's All’s Well That Ends Well at Yale Rep) directs the comedy which will play Oct. 27-Nov. 18 at the New Haven, Connecticut company's mainstage. The opening is slated for Nov. 2.

The Mistakes Madeline Made is "about unlikely love and dirty people... Edna's life is a mess. Her new boss drives her crazy. Her brother lives in her bathtub. And don't even ask about her love life. It's time for her to roll up her sleeves and get to work."

The cast features Michael Chernus (Mr. Marmalade, Finer Noble Gases), Patch Darragh (Our Town, The Ruby Sunrise), Aubrey Dollar (Orange Lemon Egg Canary, Juvenilia), David Jenkins (Kasimir and Caroline, Back From the Front) and Colleen Werthmann (Miss Witherspoon, Recent Tragic Events) — who reprises her turn from the Naked Angels world premiere in April.

The design team for The Mistakes Madeline Made features Maiko Chii (scenic), Deb O (costume), Thom Weaver (lighting) and Greg H. Hennigan (sound and original music). Joseph P. Cermatori serves as dramaturg and Nikki Rossini is the stage manager.

Meriwether's previous plays include Nicky Goes Goth (New York International Fringe Festival), True Love Story of My Parents and Heddatron (Les Freres Corbusier at HERE). She co-wrote Dixie's Tupperware Party with writer performer Kris Anderson. The 2006-07 Yale Rep season — which opened with Sarah Ruhl's Eurydice (currently playing through Oct. 14 — will continue following The Mistakes Madeline Made with Keith Reddin's Black Snow (Dec. 1-23), Danai Gurira and Nikkole Salter's In the Continuum(Jan. 12-Feb. 10, 2007) and Frank Wedekind's Lulu (March 30-April 21, 2007). A sixth play is still to be announced.
