Classic Arts News Cast of Met's American Tragedy to Speak on Panel on December 6 Conductor James Conlon, soprano Patricia Racette, baritone Nathan Gunn, and mezzo-soprano Susan Graham will discuss the world-premiere production of Tobias Picker's An American Tragedy at a lecture on December 6.
An American Tragedy, an adaptation of Theodore Dreiser's novel, premieres at the Metropolitan Opera on December 2. In addition to Racette, Gunn, and Graham, the cast includes Dolora Zajick, Jennifer Larmore, Kim Begley, William Burden, and Richard Bernstein. Francesca Zambello is the director.

The December 6 panel is part of the Metropolitan Opera Guild's lecture series. It begins at 6:15 p.m. at the Kaplan Penthouse in the Rose Building at Lincoln Center. Robert Marx, an opera writer and arts administrator, will moderate.
