The Cape Playhouse at the Cape Cod Center for the Arts presents the Oscar-, Grammy-, Tony-, and Olivier-winning musical Once beginning July 10.

Directed by Tony nominee Hunter Foster, performances are scheduled through July 20 at the Dennis, Massachusetts, venue.

Four cast members from the Broadway and national tour productions of Once are among the cast, including Barry Debois (Once, national tour) as Guy, Benjamin Magnuson (Once, Les Misérables, Guys and Dolls) as Bank Manager, Tina Stafford (Once first national tour) as Baruska, and Matt Wolpe (Finding Neverland, Once national tour) as Billy.

They are joined by Elizabeth Nestlerode (The Other Josh Cohen) as Girl, Kendra Jo Brook (October Sky) as Ex-Girlfriend, Lisa Helmi Johanson (Avenue Q, Three Sisters) as Reza, Kent M. Lewis (Billy Elliot national tour) as Eamon, Megan Loomis (The Other Josh Cohen) as Emcee, Zach Spound (Cruel Intentions: The 90’s Musical) as Svec, Kurt Zischke (Whistle Down the Wind, The Buddy Holly Story) as Da, Morgan Morse as Andrej, and Florence Carlson as Ivanka.

Once has a book by Enda Walsh, music by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, and lyrics by Hansard and Irglová. Based on the film of the same name, the musical tells the story of an Irish musician and a Czech immigrant drawn together by their shared love of music. Over the course of one fateful week, their unexpected friendship and collaboration evolves into a powerful but complicated romance, heightened by the raw emotion of the songs they create together.
