Sweet Mercy, according to press notes, is set at a U.S. military wedding in 2004 where "a former U.N. peace keeping officer and an NGO worker are reunited, both still haunted by what they witnessed in Rwanda in 1994." The play "examines and attempts to understand genocide in the hope of exorcising the evil and being able to rejoin the living."

Primary Stages is located in Manhattan at 354 West 45th Street, between Eighth and Ninth Avenues. For more information about the reading, contact Alicia Regan by calling (212) 594-8293, ext. 3 or by e-mailing [email protected].
