FRIGID New York @ Horse Trade in association with Saudade Theatre will present the U.S. premiere of Mickaël de Oliveira’s The Constitution beginning August 31 Off-Broadway.
Translated by Maria Inês Marques and directed by Jill DeArmon and assistant director Pedro Marnoto Pereira, performances will continue through September 10 at Under St. Marks (94 St. Marks Place between 1st Avenue and Avenue A).
The cast will feature Filipe Valle Costa (Snowfall on FX), Diogo Martins, Pedro Carmo, and Maria Leite.
“Four actors, heroes of a new society, are invited by the government to write a new Constitution,” according to press notes. “Sequestered from society. Six days. No experience in the matter. A perfect Constitution for an imperfect nation.”
Show times are Thursday through Sunday evenings at 7 PM. The performance runs 70 minutes with no intermission.
