Regional News Casting Announced for Chicago Premiere of Southern Comfort The musical by Dan Collins and Julianne Wick Davis centers on the final year in the life of a transgender man living in Georgia.

Chicago’s Pride Films and Plays has announced casting for Southern Comfort, the Dan Collins-Julianne Wick Davis musical about Robert Eads, a Georgia transgender man who spends the final year of his life his life with his chosen family.

A cast of trans actors will lead the production, including North Rory Homeward as Robert, with Kyra Leigh as Lola, Ricki Pettinato as Carly, Benji Flores as Sam, and Lizzy Sulkowski as Jackson. Sinclair Willman will play Melanie, alongside musicians/storytellers Kimberly Lawson, Justin Harner, Candice Kight, and Taylor Dalton.

The musical premiered Off-Broadway in 2016 at the Public Theater.

Performances run March 4–31, 2019, at the Price Arts Center. J.D. Caudill directs.
