News Casting Announced for Free NYMF Reading of The Crack in the Ceiling The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) and James Harvey will present The Crack in the Ceiling, featuring a book, music and lyrics by James Harvey, July 15 and 20 at The Studio at Theatre Row as part of NYMF's Developmental Reading Series.

Directed by Stephen Tyler Davis with music direction by Jordan Jones-Reese, free readings will be offered July 15 at 3 PM and 7 PM and July 20 at 1 PM.

The cast features Annie Edgerton (Mamma Mia!), Zachary Mackiewicz (national tour of Mary Poppins) and Anthony Apicella. Sarah Ellen Hughes is the production stage manager.

Here's how the musical is billed: "Ellen, a distraught single mother, discovers a crack in her kitchen ceiling – and no one seems to be able to repair it. As a bizarre series of handymen, plumbers, and spiritual healers try to solve the problem, Ellen finds that more than her home is at risk: her family and her sanity are increasingly put to the test in this dark musical comedy."
