News   Casting Announced for Free NYMF Reading of The Crack in the Ceiling
The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) and James Harvey will present The Crack in the Ceiling, featuring a book, music and lyrics by James Harvey, July 15 and 20 at The Studio at Theatre Row as part of NYMF's Developmental Reading Series.

Directed by Stephen Tyler Davis with music direction by Jordan Jones-Reese, free readings will be offered July 15 at 3 PM and 7 PM and July 20 at 1 PM.

The cast features Annie Edgerton (Mamma Mia!), Zachary Mackiewicz (national tour of Mary Poppins) and Anthony Apicella. Sarah Ellen Hughes is the production stage manager.

Here's how the musical is billed: "Ellen, a distraught single mother, discovers a crack in her kitchen ceiling – and no one seems to be able to repair it. As a bizarre series of handymen, plumbers, and spiritual healers try to solve the problem, Ellen finds that more than her home is at risk: her family and her sanity are increasingly put to the test in this dark musical comedy."

NYMF is the flagship program of The National Music Theater Network. Now entering its tenth year, The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) exists to "revitalize musical theatre culture by discovering and promoting new musical theatre artists, producers and projects; nurturing a vibrant and innovative artistic community; and connecting one of America's greatest art forms with a diverse, contemporary audience."

The Studio at Theatre Row is located at 410 W. 42nd Street. For more information and to make a reservation call (212) 352-3101 or visit
