Conceived, written and directed by Dane Whitlock with choreography by Joseph Corella, the production will star Carey Peters, Jennifer Blake and Drew Droege with Amy Procacci, Libby Baker, Rae Dawn Hadinger, Joe Donohoe, Brad Griffith and Matthew Herrmann. The new musical parody, which is loosely based on Judy Blume's 1970 coming-of-age novel "Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret," "lovingly recalls the sights, sentiments and SOUNDS of the era with such songs from the Carpenters catalog as 'Rainy Days and Mondays,' 'Close to You,' 'Top of the World' and 'We’ve Only Just Begun.'"
"Come watch Margaret as she moves to New Jersey, falls in love with the boy next door, enters sixth grade, joins a girl group, obsesses about bras and sanitary belts and (finally!) becomes a woman – all while singing the hits of the Carpenters!" press notes state.
