News Casting Announced for New Production of Chekhov's Three Sisters at London's Young Vic Full casting has been announced for a new production of Chekhov's Three Sisters that begins performances at London's Young Vic Sept. 8, prior to an official opening Sept. 13, for a run through Oct. 12.

Benedict Andrews directs a cast led by Mariah Gale, Gala Gordon and Vanessa Kirby in the title roles, in a new version of the play he has also written.

"In a remote Russian town, Olga (Gale), Masha (Kirby) and Irina (Gordon) yearn for the adrenaline rush of life in Moscow – but their plans go nowhere," according to press notes. "Disaster, deception, meaningless self-sacrifice – each new twist of fate sees the sisters’ control over their destiny slip away. The courage it takes to defy convention and find happiness is at the heart of Chekhov's drama."

The production is designed by Johannes Schütz, with costumes designed by Victoria Behr, lighting by James Farncombe and sound by Paul Arditti.

The cast also includes Emily Barclay, Harry Dickman, Gruffudd Glyn, Danny Kirrane, Richard Pryal, Ann Queensbury, Paul Rattray, Adrian Schiller and Sam Troughton.
