The new musical, which chronicles the newsboys of New York City, features a book and lyrics by Brian Glidewell and Marcy Jarreau with music and additional lyrics by Kevin Carter. Newsadoozies will have an encore performance March 19 at 8 PM.

Directed by Christopher Gladysz, the cast includes Brian Glidewell, Dan Hodapp, Aaron Jackson, Megan Maes, Kevin Michael Murphy, Katie Schorr and Stephanie Streisand. Lauren Conlin Adams provides additional direction and staging.

Here's how UCB bills the show: "Welcome to New York, circa eighteen something! Uptown, the aristocrats and robber barons think they own the city. Downtown it's the thieves, pimps, and she-males. But the real kings of the city, the only truly free ones, are the news boys! Or for short, the newsies! Or for even shorter, the newsadoozies! And for some reason, they’re all British!"

Newsies, the Broadway musical adapted from the 1992 movie musical of the same name, will begin performances March 15 at the Nederlander Theatre. Opening night is set for March 29.
