News Casting Announced for Off-Broadway's The Soldier Dreams The Soldier Dreams, a play by Daniel Macivor, will begin performances March 25 with an official opening March 29 Off-Broadway at The Lion Theatre (Theatre Row).

The 80-minute work, described as "an emotionally rich drama," will be directed by Judson Jones and will be presented by Theatre East.

The cast includes Nick Cianfroga, William Franke, Heather Hill, Bryan Jarrett, Christa Kimlicko Jones, Denny Lawrence, Helen Merino and Joseph Mitchell Parks.

"David's family is gathered by his bed at home as he lies in a coma and dreams of his secret life," press notes state. "His two sisters, Tish and Judy, his brother-in-law, Sam, and his partner Richard wrestle with emotions —and sometimes each other—as they struggle to come to terms with losing David. What would he want? They all come up with the same answer: 'If David had his way we'd all be dancing.'"

The production will feature set design by Lea Anello, lighting design by Jessica M. Burgess, sound design and music composed by Scott O'Brien.

Performances will continue through April 9. Show times are Tuesday at 7 PM, Wednesday-Saturday at 8 PM with matinees Saturday at 2 PM and Sunday at 3 PM (no matinee April 9).
