News   Casting Announced for Roald Dahl's The Twits at London's Royal Court; John Tiffany Directs

Casting has been announced for The Twits, a new stage adaptation by Enda Walsh of Roald Dahl's story, that will begin performances at London's Royal Court April 7 prior to an official opening April 14 for a run through May 31.

Jason Watkins and Monica Dolan will play Mr. and Mrs. Twit, with Sam Cox as Yorkshire Terrier Man, Cait Davis as Monkey Mum, Aimée-Ffion Edwards as Monkey Daughter, Christine Entwisle as Tattooed Fortune Teller Lady, Oliver Llewellyn-Jenkins as Monkey Son, Glyn Pritchard as Monkey Father and Dwane Walcott as Shy Waltzer Boy. According to press materials, Mr. and Mrs. Twit are not very nice. In fact they’re extremely nasty. They’re nasty to each other, and they’re vile to everyone else. They hold a family of monkeys hostage in a cage and force them to stand on their heads. All the time. Can the monkeys find a way to show those vicious Twits what for?

The creative team comprises director John Tiffany, with Steven Hoggett as associate director and movement director and Martin Lowe as the composer and musical supervisor. Designs are by Chloe Lamford, with lighting by Philip Gladwell and sound by Gregory Clarke.
