News Casting Announced for Sheffield's Crucible Theatre Productions of The Winter's Tale and Oliver! Sheffield's Crucible Theatre has announced casting for its forthcoming productions of Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale and Lionel Bart's Oliver!

The Winter's Tale, which begins performances Oct. 2 prior to an official opening Oct. 7 for a run through Nov. 2, is directed by the theatre's associate director, Paul Miller. Daniel Lapaine and Claire Price star as Leontes and Hermione, respectively, joined by Suzanne Ahmet (Mopsa), Will Alexander (Florizel/Jailer), Thomas Barker (Mamillius), Keir Charles (Autolycus), Christian Dixon (Dion/Lord III/Bear), Eva Feiler (Dorcas/Emilia), Jonathan Firth (Polixenes, King of Bohemia), Sam Graham (Camillo), Jake Harders (Archidamus/Paulina’s Steward), David Mallinson (Antigonus/Time), Barbara Marten (Paulina), Andy McKeane (Cleomenes), Kirsty Oswald (Perdita), Jonah Raby (Mamillius), Patrick Walshe McBride (Young Shepherd/Servant /Officer) and Gareth Williams (The Old Shepherd).

Oliver!, which begins performances Nov. 29 prior to an official opening Dec. 16 for a run through Jan. 25, 2014, will be directed by artistic director Daniel Evans, who has previously directed the musicals My Fair Lady and This is My Family at the Crucible and starred in Company there.

The cast will be led by Phil Davis as Fagin, with Ben Richards as Bill Sikes.

The production will be designed by Peter McKintosh, with choreography by Alistair David, musical direction by Jonathan Gill, lighting design by Howard Harrison and sound design by Simon Baker. The orchestral arrangements are by William David Brohn, and the production is licensed by Cameron Mackintosh and the Southbook Group.
