News Casting Announced for Spellbound: A Musical Adventure Casting has been announced for Spellbound: A Musical Adventure, a magical tale that will be presented as part of the New York International Fringe Festival at The Ellen Stewart Theater at La Mama E.T.C., Aug. 15-27.

The musical, by Paul J. Deakin and Christian De Gré, will be directed by Nancy Robillard and feature a cast including Ashley C. Williams, Martin Van Treuren, Aaron Schroeder, David Garry, Antoinette DiPietropolo, Craig Waletzko, Joanna Parson, Joe Kurtz, Joseph Reese, Andrew Hartley, Michael Barra and Michael Ianucci. The production will feature choreography by Kelli Gautreau and music direction by Manny Simone. Sets will be designed by Robert Monaco, costumes by David Quinn, lighting by Sarah Arnold and sound by Bernard Fox.

Mind the Art Entertainment will present the show in association with Robert R. Blume.

According to press notes, "After the massacre of her village, Herianne embarks on a journey through a mystical land to rescue her family and fulfill her life-long ambition to become a Grand Wizard. Accompanied by her mentor and three 'Teachers of the Scrolls,' Herianne must overcome the evil that enshrouds the land of Dragnor and confront the malevolence that seeks to devour her innate power. With time and a conspiring foe against her, Herianne is forced to choose relationships wisely as she completes her passage from adolescence to womanhood. In a final battle of good versus evil, events beyond her control, Herianne realizes that great reward often comes at great sacrifice."

Performance dates are Aug. 15 at 5:45 PM, Aug. 18 at 5:45 PM, Aug. 25 at 2:30 PM, Aug. 26 at 7 PM and Aug. 27 at 10:15 PM.
