The Stratford repertory season in Stratford, Ontario, plays April 10-Oct. 31 on four stages.

New York actor Young will play Che opposite Kennedy in Griffin's staging of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's Evita, about Argentine political icon Eva Peron. Griffin directed Broadway's The Color Purple and last summer's Stratford production of West Side Story, which featured Kennedy as Maria. Young toured as Marius in Les Miserables.

Chioran (Broadway and touring Kiss of the Spider Woman) will play Argentina's President Juan Peron. This will mark Chioran's 11th season. He has appeared there as Don Quixote in The Man of La Mancha, and many classical roles.

Vince Staltari will make his Stratford debut as Magaldi in Evita, for which Tracey Flye is the choreographer and Rick Fox is the musical director.

The Evita cast also includes Jordan Bell, Naomi Costain, Stephen Cota, Lindsay Croxall, Keisha T. Frazer, Nicko Giannakos, Kyle Golemba, Eran Goodyear, Douglas E. Hughes, Lorena Mackenzie, Josie Marasco, Jennifer Rider-Shaw, Steve Ross, Jaz Sealey, Julius Sermonia, Kristian Truelsen and Rudy Webb. Evita starts rehearsals March 23. Previews at the Avon Theatre begin May 28. The production opens June 10 and runs until Oct. 30.

The Evita principals will be cross-cast in the Festival's 2010 production of Kiss Me, Kate, the backstage musical about a musical version of The Taming of the Shrew. Director Doyle won the Best Direction Tony Award for Broadway's Sweeney Todd and also staged Company (Tony – Best Revival of a Musical) and A Catered Affair.

Kiss Me, Kate will have choreography by Tracey Flye and musical direction by Franklin Brasz.

Opposite Chioran, who will play Fred/Petruchio, will be Lund as Lilli/Kate. In 2008, Lund played Max in Cabaret. Her other Stratford highlights include Louise/Gypsy in Gypsy and Angelique in The Imaginary Invalid. She played Donna Sheridan in the U.S. national tour of Mamma Mia! She will also appear in Evita.

Kennedy will play Lois Lane, Jackson (who will also appear in Evita) will play Bill Calhoun and Young will take the role of Paul.

The Kiss Me, Kate cast also includes Keisha T. Fraser (Hattie), Kyle Golemba (Gremio), Douglas E. Hughes (Harry), Josie Marasco (Swing), Steve Ross (First Man), Cliff Saunders (Second Man), Jaz Sealey (Hortensio), Kristian Truelsen (Harrison Howell), Rudy Webb (Pops), with Jordan Bell, Naomi Costain, Stephen Cota, Lindsay Croxall, Nicko Giannokos, Eran Goodyear, Lorena Mackenzie, Jennifer Rider-Shaw, Julius Sermonia.

Kiss Me, Kate starts rehearsals on Feb. 22. Previews begin at the Festival Theatre April 10. The production opens officially on June 8 and runs until Oct. 30.
