News Casting Announced for White Plains Performing Arts Center's 39 Steps Casting has been announced for the White Plains Performing Arts Center's upcoming production of The 39 Steps, which will begin performances at the New York venue Oct. 11.

Directed by David Murray Jaffe, performances will continue through Oct. 27.

The cast will feature David Gautschy as the intrepid hero Richard Hannay and Natasha Nightingale as all female roles (including a beautiful spy with a deadly secret) with DJ Petrosino, Ari Lew and Kate Dickinson.

"Combining a spy thriller with farcical comedy and ingenious theatrical invention," The 39 Steps, press notes state "is an engaging, fast-paced whodunit for anyone who loves the magic of theater. Closely following the storyline of Alfred Hitchcock’s 1935 film, the play features more than 150 characters brought to life by a cast of just five actors."

The 39 Steps is adapted by Patrick Barlow from the novel by John Buchan and from the movie by Alfred Hitchcock with an original concept by Nobby Dimon and Simon Corble.
