News Casting Announced for Williamstown World Premiere of Villa America Williamstown Theatre Festival will present the world premiere of Crispin Whittell's Villa America in July.

The production, which runs July 11-July 22, will feature Matthew Bomer, Charlotte Booker, Nate Corddry, David Deblinger, Karl Kenzler and Jennifer Mudge. Playwright Crispin Whittell also directs.

Williamstown Theatre Festival commissioned the work, which according to production notes, "explores the lives, loves and losses of what Gertrude Stein called 'The Lost Generation.' Gerald and Sara Murphy were at the center of a circle of artists, including F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway and Pablo Picasso, who migrated to France in the 1920s. Set on the sun-soaked, wine-drenched coast of the French Riviera, Villa America chronicles the complicated and fascinating relationships between these legendary characters."

The design team comprises Emily Pepper (costume design), Thom Weaver (lighting design),  Mimi Lien (set design) and Nick Borisjuk (sound design).

In association with the production, the Williams College Museum of Art will present an exhibition exploring the contribution of the Murphys to twentieth-century arts and letters, opening July 8.

Tickets are available by logging on to wtfestival.org, by calling (413) 597-3400 or by visiting the Festival box office.
