John Ahlin and Zachary Spicer will join Andrew Benator for the TheaterWorks production of David Mamet's American Buffalo, which begins performances in Hartford Sept. 11.

As previously reported, Steve Campo will stage the production that officially opens Sept. 18 and runs through Oct. 18. American Buffalo is the final production of the 2008-2009 season at TheaterWorks.

TheaterWorks veteran Benator (Lobby Hero, Proof, The SantaLand Diaries) will star as Teach, with Ahlin (The Lonesome West, Seafarer) as Don and newcomer Spicer as Bobby.

"In American Buffalo," press notes state, "three small-time hustlers conspire to steal a coin collector's priceless buffalo-head nickel. The question is...can they trust one another enough to get their piece of the American dream?"

American Buffalo has set design by Adrian Jones and lighting design by Matthew Richards.
