News Casting Complete for Rocky Horror Benefit; Burtka Joins Company Casting is now complete for the one-night-only presentation of The Rocky Horror Tribute Show — a concert version of The Rocky Horror Show — that will benefit Acting for a Cure/Komen for the Cure.

As previously announced, the April 16 performance will be held at the American Airlines Theatre; show time is 8 PM. Directed by Gil Reyes, the company will feature Acting for a Cure founder Rachel Helson as Janet, Michael Sutherland as Brad, David Burtka as Riff Raff, Cathy Trien as Magenta/Usherette, Kate Reinders as Columbia, Kevin Cahoon as Dr. Frank 'N' Furter, Howie Michael Smith as Rocky, Michael Formika-Jones as Eddie and E.J. Carroll as Dr. Scott.

The performers will be backed by Brien Brannigan on bass, David Purcell on drums and Jan Tilley on guitar. Purcell will also be the evening's musical director.

All proceeds will benefit the Louisville and New York City affiliates of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

The Rocky Horror Show, according to press notes, "follows squeaky-clean sweethearts Brad and Janet on an adventure they'll never forget, with the scandalous Frank N Furter, rippling Rocky and vivacious Magenta." Song titles include "Sweet Transvestite," "Damn It Janet" and "Time Warp."

The Rocky Horror Show — with music, lyrics and book by Richard O'Brien — bowed in London in 1973. It played Broadway's Belasco Theatre from March 10, 1975 through April 5, 1975, with a cast led by Tim Curry, Jamie Donnelly and Meat Loaf. The 1975 film also cast Curry as Frank-N-Furter opposite Susan Sarandon's Janet Weiss and Barry Bostwick's Brad Majors. The Tony-nominated revival at New York's Circle in the Square Theatre boasted a cast that comprised Dick Cavett, Lea DeLaria, Jarrod Emick, Tom Hewitt, Joan Jett, Alice Ripley, Daphne Rubin Vega, Raúl Esparza, Sebastian LaCause and Kevin Cahoon. The American Airlines Theatre is located in Manhattan at 227 West 42nd Street, between Seventh and Eighth Avenues. Tickets are available by calling (212) 719-1300.
