Complete casting has been announced for The Workshop Theater’s return engagement of The Astonishing Times of Timothy Cratchit, which will be presented December 1-18 Off-Broadway.
Featuring a book by Allan Knee (Little Women) with music and lyrics by Andre Catrini, The Astonishing Times begins ten years after Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.
Robby Haltiwanger will play the title role with Kyra Kennedy as Lucy, Ethan Cadoff as Grimaldi, Robert Stattel as Scrooge, Virginia Roncetti as Mrs. Poole, Ann Talman as Mrs. Linden, Kendall Riliegh as Miss Tulips, Robert Meksin as Mr. Archibald, Andy Ingalls as Georgio, Jeff Paul as Quilp, and Joe Chisholm as Guido.
Inspired by the characters of Dickens' Christmas Carol, the musical, according to press notes, “follows the plight of the young hero from the home of his benefactor, Ebenezer Scrooge, to the theatrical madness of the great comic, Giuseppe Grimaldi.”
Directed by artistic director Thomas Coté with choreography by Mark Stuart, the production also features set designs by Craig Napoliello and costumes by Sharon Sobel.
The Workshop Theater is located at 312 W. 36th Street. Tickets are $25 general admission and $18 for students and seniors and are available online at Workshoptheater.org or by calling (866) 811-4111.
